Overview – a big picture of our homeschool success process
The success process is like a set of blocks that build on each other. As a family or child moves from step to another, each block supports the other.
We help families learn what true success really means and we aid the process so that families can achieve that goal.
We connect homeschool families to one another so they can meet on a regular basis, via a co-op. The co-op is a group of enrolled families who have agreed to meet together for cooperative learning, mutual encouragement & support.
We give and create opportunities for families to use their God-given talents, gifts, and abilities to bless others and shine for God’s glory.
What is the end goal of these building blocks? To achieve “true” success. This definition of success is based on God’s command in Deuteronomy 6:5-7 “Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”
The context of these verses is Moses addressing the people, particularly the parents, about key instructions prior to their entrance into the Promised Land. Deuteronomy 6:1-3 states, “These are the commands, decrees and laws the LORD your God directed me to teach you to observe in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess, so that you, your children and their children after them may fear the LORD your God as long as you live by keeping all his decrees and commands that I give you, and so that you may enjoy long life. Hear, Israel, and be careful to obey so that it may go well with you and that you may increase greatly in a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the LORD, the God of your ancestors, promised you.”
God has blessings in store for your family, for your children. But the key is to respond in obedience to his command to teach and raise your children to know, love, obey, serve, and worship Him. At TMA Homeschool, we are committed to helping and equipping parents to achieve this goal by learning, connecting, and shining as homeschoolers.
An Example to Follow
Luke 2:52 says that “Jesus grew in wisdom, stature, and favor with God and men.” We encourage parents to use this verse as a reference for their child’s total development.
- Wisdom is “the varied knowledge of things human and divine, acquired by acuteness and experience.” Most importantly, it is the ability to discern right from wrong based on biblical truth and principles.
- Stature is “an attained state fit for a thing.” We encourage families to nurture the proper physical health, abilities, and giftings of their children.
- Favor with men is one who “affords joy, pleasure, delight, sweetness, charm, loveliness” towards others. This is a person who relates well with others, one who is socially gracious and applies practices proper etiquette and manners.
- Favor with God is one who “affords joy, pleasure, delight, sweetness, charm, loveliness” towards God. Above all else, it is God’s pleasure and favor that is most important as a child develops and matures.
